Rossland Curling is looking for a very special person to join our team.

Hourly wage:  $20.80/hour + tips 

Part time job, mostly evenings

Requirement:  Serving it Right government certification

Desired profile of candidates:

• Sociable.  The curling community is made up of respectful, smiling, grateful and passionate people.  In short, exceptional people who want to have a good time.

• Reliable and punctual.  After training, you would be working on your own.  So, it is very important that we can count on you to show up, and on time.  

• Having initiative, multitasking, and resourcefulness.  Life is full of surprises after all.  

• Being able to follow procedures.  We try to provide the right tools to be as efficient as possible and to support you.  The common goal is to keep the place clean, welcoming and not to add work for anyone else.

• Caring.  We are looking for someone who REALLY cares about doing a great job.

Join us at our Annual General Meeting on Sunday September 22nd to get the full details on what was a truly momentous year for Rossland Curling, and to hear what we have planned for the upcoming season.

The AGM starts at 7PM, but pop in from 6PM for league sign-up and to catch up with your fellow curlers and enjoy a beverage with us - bar will be open!

👷Off Season Work Complete!

A number of (mostly grant-funded) projects were completed over the summer, including these noteworthy items:

• Installation of new acoustic ceiling tiles in lounge.

• Installation of a state-of-the art camera system on all sheets:

  • Four 4K cameras per sheet, with optical zoom capability, fed to sheet TV's.

  • Each sheet's cameras are also linked to a NVR, providing recording and playback capabilities.

  • Camera feeds can be viewed via phone apps or on the big TV.

  • Camera feeds can be live streamed over the internet!

• Liquor storage room has been insulated.

A huge thank you once again to Wes Meger for doing the lion's share of the work on all of these projects.  Thanks also to Paul McKay for assisting with the camera installation, as well as to all the volunteers who came out to help at various times.

2023 Holiday Drop-In Curling

We will host special holiday drop-in sessions every afternoon from Wednesday December 27 to Saturday December 30, from Noon until 4PM.

Important!

Dress in warm layers and bring a toque, some gloves, and an extra pair of clean indoor shoes, e.g. trainers/runners/gym shoes.

It is NOT fun or easy to curl in winter boots!

Note that we will be closed Christmas and Boxing day to allow our ice crew to flood and prep our ice sheets for the new year.
